Michael you have also nicely captured LEICESTER TRADER before she was rescued by Les Reid, I had a cup of tea on board her only last Thursday, you wouldn't have thought it from her state in this photo!

As the owner I can assure you the France-Hayhurst is not neglected and is in the process of a repaint above water before drydocking later this year. She currently provides a base for the Marine Radio Museum Society and is operational. She takes an active part in Albert Dock events and is a National Historic Ship. She has a fascinating history, closely documented and is much loved. Take a closer look next time NorthEast.

Sorry tugboatcath, it was my first impression on a viewing compared with a year or two earlier. If she is in process of a repaint and further attention then fine, and your attention to this fine old vessel is much appreciated by one who has been involved in a similar project! Look forward to seeing her spruced up on my next visit to Albert Dock!
