West Stockwith Lock Closed

Postby Chris and Mal » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:20 pm

The lock from the river Trent into West Stockwith basin and the Chesterfield Canal has had to be closed because of damage to a river gate.

The upstream gate has been lifted from its socket and the securing strap and bracket torn from the stone work. The gate is now back in its socket and the gates secured closed by a Tirfor winch. The stonework, bracket and strap now await repair.
