The RNLB EARL AND COUNTESS MOUNTBATTEN OF BURMA (14-01) Trent Class relief lifeboat arriving in Hartlepool Marina on June 6th, 2009. She entered service in 1994.

Built 1991 as the First of Class by Green Marine and William Osborne.

Funds donated nationwide to the "Mountbatten of Burma Appeal."

Official Number 1180.
Approx Cost £1,000,000.
Twin MAN 808 bhp Engines.

Trials 1991 to 1994.
Alderney 7th March 1994 to 21st July 1995.
Relief 1995.

Just saw a report on MSN News that she is now operated by a charity as AURORA and busy 'rescuing' emigrants trying to cross the Mediterranean. Been held up in Lampedusa as her certification does not cover these waters.
