At least someone has been able to make an 'essential journey' to record her demise

That is a shame where are Husbands going to go that has an interesting view when the Wife and Daughters go on the shop till you drop expedition in the nearby shopping complex, although I have not been up that way for some time and now unlikely to go that way in the near future ( it looks like Teesside is going into Tier 3) the Owners have done well to keep her going for so long in these troubled times.
In regards to her final breaking and appreciating that the old HMS Kellington was a bit lighter what they did with her was to chop her down to the waterline and then cut her between Bulkheads with the same type of system used on the Kursk and lifted the cut sections out with a large crane. They also attached floatation bags to the Hull left into the water until they were lifted out.

Hi Paul
I was told they will strip her so far to almost waterline and then lift out whats left, bet there's a few barnacles on her hull :D

There was always a bond on her (like an insurance) that as she could never leave again through the lock she would be scrapped where she lay

Last time I was at Royal Quays was unimpressed with the quality of the shops. Yes SHOPS not ships.
M&S 'anchor' unit is more like a end of line free for all and the shops I did go in did not have many 'savings' like they used to have.
Looking at some of the old shots in the Hartlepool section reminded me that where the CEGB colliers were laid up during the miners strike became Jackson's Landing and is now apartments overlooking the marina.
Of course other complex's are available in other harbour outlets.

Paul
2019 - I think.
Took Jessica to Wet & Wild when she was still at school. Big kid, little kid.
They wanted £22 for entry.
Took her to Whitley Bay Leisure pool- £6
And you thought Yorkshire folk were tight!
Happy big birthday by the way Mr Hood. Enjoy your night out and you will be home early, Boris says so!

Looks like a professional job.
Unlike the cowboys who tried to break up the Russian subs in Blyth
