Remember the DFDS "Butter Boats"? Bellona, Blenda and Magnolia are those that I recall bringing all that lovely butter and bacon across to us from Denmark

BELLONA was completed in 1956 by Danish builders Frederikshavn Vaerft & Flyedok A/S, for Der Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab (The United Steamship Co. Ltd.), Denmark
The 1,481grt reefer could accommodate eight passengers, her 12 knot service speed was provided by a five-cylinder Helsingør-B&W 5-50VBF-90 engine rated at 1,600bhp at 200rpm
1972 sold to William Lines Inc., Cebu, Philippines and converted to carry 300 passengers, renamed TAGBILARAN
1972 renamed DAVAO (same registered owners)
1985 renamed WILCON IX (same registered owners)
1986 she was beached on May 18th after her engine room became flooded. Refloated on June 7th she was towed to Cebu and declared a CTL
1987 Sold for demolition at Manila by L Acuario Marketing Corp.

Pictured inward bound passing Lloyds hailing station, North Shields, on June 3rd 1962

Fine ships, also regulars on Riverside Quay at Hull, and if my memory is right, used to back-load steel etc. on the Tees wharves.
