Completed as LONGSTONE in 2003 by Flensburger Schiffbau, Flensburg, she became DORSET in 2014 then FINNMERCHANT in 2015 then NEW AMSTERDAM in 2022
Evidence of her previous ownership can be seen on her hull as she departs for Holland this afternoon under what can be described as lowering skies. She left the container terminal quay without the assistance of tugs, moving upriver where she turned opposite Whitehill Point before heading out to sea
I believe she might be owned or perhaps chartered to the Dutch Government at present, visible on her deck is a collection of military vehicles
Her profile matches that of RoRo vessel HARTLAND POINT which can be seen elsewhere on NEM
