Early mist on Saturday 24 February hid HMS Defender from view as she anchored off Tynemouth. Fortunately the mist lifted. She sailed the next day. She is one of the 6 Type 45 destroyers. She last visited the Tyne in February 2013.

HMS Defender is about 9 mile off the Tyne and due in 09'00 on the 1/3/2019 and due for bunkers while she is here by 'Whitestar' also due in later :D

That's Whitakers WHITSTAR (2004/2,156) without the "e", Mike. :)

Also note a Member of the Royal Netherlands Navy will join her!
