The South Eastern Gas Board’s collier Effra, from S P Austin in 1946, outboard of the Indian Ratna Jyoti, completed as the Albyn Line’s Thistledown by J L Thompson in 1953, alongside at John Readhead & Sons in May 1966. Just discernible in the background, representatives of the Bowater, CEGB, Headlam and Constantine fleets.
