WILLIAM G. WALKLEY was built at Blyth for Australian owners and was the first in a number of similar sized tankers built for various owners, including BLYTH ADVENTURER which was built for the yard's owners, Mollers. No not that 1!!
I have seen in old Blyth News newspapers reporting that newbuilds were due to be towed to the Tyne for the fitting of their engines.
I might be totally wrong, something I am used to being, that at least one of the Blue Funnel 'P' class which were built on the Tyne came round to Blyth for finishing.
Regards
Graham
