Does not look as if it was a good deal for the good Captain.
Translation from French, but you can get the gist of it:-

1912: She becomes Adrana for Seefahrt Dampf. Reed. A.G., from Bremen who chartered it, and went under the German flag
08.1914: it is seized in Rouen
01.15.1915: requisitioned, She then takes the name of Marguerite
02.15.1915: departure under the command of LV Collon
1916: she is reconverted and armed as a freighter-trap by the Engineer of Maritime Engineering Dumanois
05.1916: its two 75 mm front pieces are replaced by two Japanese 47 mm guns
1916: it enters refit in Toulon
15 or 16.03.1917: it was damaged in combat against the submarine UC-70 (KL Werner Fürbringer) in the English Channel, towed to La Pallice and repaired at Rochefort. Its artillery was then replaced by four 75 mm pieces, model 1916
03.06.1917: renamed Marguerite VI
06.17.1917: Set on fire during a fight against the UC-69 submarine (KL Erwin Wassner), other sources indicate two attacking submarines for 1917. It rallies Saint Jean de Luz and is repaired at Rochefort. Its parts were then replaced by two 100 mm guns, three of 75 mm and two of 57 mm.
11.1917: returned to service
03.1918: She is armed in transport
08.10.1918: She leaves Groix with convoy n ° 1 made up of the submarine Néréide, Jeanne and Geneviève and three dundees with sails
11.1919: it is decommissioned and handed over to the Domains *

Bet she could tell a few tails.
