A fine study from the late Albert Weller of the veteran HOLGER sailing up the Tyne.
HOLGER, owned by Ick of Germany, 1574 gt, built 1922, ex Lisken-56, ex Borgholm-49. BU Lubeck 6.3.62.

Looks like she has brough in a cargo of Timber or perhaps Pit Props.

She was built by Akers Mek Verks of Christiania, Norway for A/S Borga and Managed by Petter Olsen.

Her Tripple Exp of 168 NHP was also by her Builder and she had this modern Electric Light!

No shipbuilding left now at "Christiania" but they have made a nice job of the old Drydocks....
