Welcome aboard, Seaways.

Looking through ships built at Hartlepool in 1884 on the TEESBUILTSHIPS site, the only possibility among them seems to be the AEOLUS which sank 6 nautical miles off Padstow in 1886.

Unfortunately, we do not know the engine-builders.

Hope this helps. Otherwise an approximate position for the wreck may narrow down the search.
