The first sea going tender was MMS1090 from 1948 to 1954, she took the name Bernicia in September 1948. Hodgeston M1146 became Northumbria in 1955 to 1960, then Quainton to 1972 and finally Wiston which reverted to her own name in 1976 until being replaced by Repton in 1977, Brereton in 1979, Crofton in 1981, Hodgeston in 1984 and Orwell from 1986 until 1994 when all the RNR tenders were withdrawn.
Naval Reserve elements RNR and RNVR were combined in 1958 as the RNR.
