A wet welcome for what Brian tells me is the first visit of an Irish warship to the Tyne. The Offshore Patrol Vessel William Butler Yeats, completed at Appledore in 2016, arriving in the pouring rain for Newcastle this afternoon.

WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS at Spillers this afternoon in very pleasant weather although rain is scheduled for the late hours.
Looks as though awnings have been rigged for an evening of cocktails (Guiness) and Irish Stew.

Nicely placed above the NBC washdown system just in case the wrong valve is opened "accidentally" ;) during the Cocktail Party for the Bigwigs, hopefully Royal Quays and the Metro Centre did some good business when her Crew went ashore.
