A well known vessel even more so than any actual R.N. War Canoe at the time via that wonderful Radio comedy “The Navy Lark”. Sad to hear the death of Leslie Phillips (local connection served during the War with the DLI) a great comedy Actor, who could forget the phrase “Left Hand down a bit” amongst others which are frowned on these days. Perhaps the BBC will show the film again.?

Sad indeed to hear of his passing, but a remarkable 98 years of age .... the sort of age when people only just realise that he hadn't already died! No more 'hellooo', just goodbye.
