RAF 2555

Perhaps not the right place to post this, so please move if wrong

RAF Rescue & Target Towing Launch built by the British Power Boat Co. This was 2555 which exploded in May 1955 whilst refueling at Blyth. No one was killed at this incident.

I think we can call that a CTL! One of the lovely 'Hants and Dorests' same type as featured in the film 'The Sea Shall Not Have Them' built by British Power Boats you can still see one of her blanked off Gun Tubs and she appears to still have her 'Sea Lion' x3 petrol engines fitted. A number of these vessel's were converted to have marinised Rolls Royce 'Griffon' petrol enginesx2 fitted in later years. There are still a few of the BPB built type still around now Houseboats.

Another Hants and Dorset is 'moored' not far from Cutlass, her Google position is 34 39' 52"N. 33 01' 43"E, if you do the same procedure as with Cutlass and pick the next blue spot to the West of the Cutlass you will find her. Now I know that the RAF used to pull their launches out to dry their Hulls but this is ridiculous. :(
