Maybe wrong but that looks like the Bristol suspension bridge in the background so she's coming up the the river Avon.

I forget the name of the Photographer Mike, but that was his favorite spot.

He caught the ships just before they were about to enter the Lock to pass into the Floating Harbour at Bristol.

If you go into Google Maps, put in Hotwells Road, Bristol you will see the position of the Lock. The River has a slight bend giving him good angles.

You can spot photographs from the John Clarkson collection in the same way because many were taken from the same spot at Preston.

Stone Quay, where Eltringham's Yard was situated is at the Western End of Mill Dam.
