A & P yard

I am not sure if this Aircraft carrier section under construction at the A&P yard is for the new one now being built at Rosyth or for the second carrier, maybe someone will know who lives localy :D

This is part of the midships upper centre block - CB03 - for Ship 02, Prince of Wales. The deck below the orange safety fence is the hangar roof.

It's 'Shipbuilding on the Tyne', but not as we knew it, Jim!

Actually George it's
'It's shipbuilding Jim but not as we know it.
And the two carriers probably cost more than the Starship Enterprise, which did have it's photon torpedoes and by the time the carriers get their aircraft Enterprise would probably have completed it's five year mission !

Yes I agree but ANY work on the Tyne is good for the local lads :D
The new Jacket under construction at the OGN yard is not exactly shipbuilding as we know it but it sure will keep a few welders happy for some time :)
