C.O.A. was a long time fitting out, launch 28/12/1956, comp. 02/1958 so there right through 1957

Launched between Christmas and New Year - no two-week Christmas breaks in the fifties & sixties. However, I seem to recall that it was the perfect excuse for two (alcohol-fuelled) office parties in the space of a couple of weeks!

Dennis, are you suggesting they had a 6-months hangover hence 14 months to fit her out!
I am guessing some 'industrial relations issues' intervened.

If work stopped because of hangovers George I think that the river's output would have been much reduced! I think that your guess is probably right.
