Launched by J Readhead and Sons, South Shields on the 10th July 1944 as the maintenance ship HMS MORAY FIRTH after having been laid down as the EMPIRE PITCAIRN for MOWT.
7,333 gross. 4,222 net. 10,065 gross.
December 1947. Purchased by Stag Line for £80,500 and converted into a Dry Cargo Ship by Tyne Dock Engineering for an additional £98,597. Renamed LINARIA. (Third of this name.)
Commenced trading April 1948.
November 1954. Sold to Chellew Navigation for £230,000 and renamed ESKGLEN.
1956. Owners restyled as Esk Shipping Ltd.
1961. Sold to Fortune Shipping Co Ltd, Hong Kong and renamed MARINE FORTUNE.
1961. Sold to Herald Shipping Co. Hong Kong.
1967. Sold to Japanese shipbreakers and arrived at Yokosuka on the 8th June 1967 to be broken up.
