NER No 3

I have been sent these two photos of NER No 3 in stormy weather by Colin Foster. The photos belong to his father Brian Foster. I don't know anything about the circumstances of the photos (yet). I have tidied them up a bit in photoshop, especially lightening them.

She was probably making her way from The Tees to Hartlepool or vici verci. :roll: :roll:

Bet it broke a few Mugs and Plates.

Seems odd to have gone between the two ports in that weather, what was the rush!

Well she did serve at Mudros during WW1, so perhaps the photo was taken enroute?

Looking at the 2 photos again, maybe they got just outside the Gare and then said 'sod this, we're going back'. :)

Impressive bit of roughers. No fun whatsoever even for force 8 die hard freaks.

Broken mugs and plates Paul ? Would not have been anything to put in or on, any sane seamen would be past caring.

Wonder what the ship is from which the photos were taken. One hand for the camera, more importantly one for yourself.
