A lovely photo of half of the Singapore Dock being towed from the Tyne on 21.06.1928. The lead tug is the Schelde with the port tug the Zwarte Zee and the starboard tug the Roode Zee.

Pic shows the middle three sections, 3, 4, 5. The two ends, 1, 2, 6, 7, were towed out as one unit on 28 Jun 1928.

Dave, you have managed to collect some amazing pictures on both of your sites.......
Any chance of bigger version of the contract document so we can read it........

Hi Paul
I have increased the size a little, but if I take it much more it will fragment. Think it is readable now - if you put your specs on.

Cool!
Just done what I should have done in the first place,,,,,,copied it and enlarged it a bit more.
Very nice of Smits to allow Swans the use of their Tugs, free of charge to bring the dock out of the Tyne.
Overall quite an expensive job.............but its a long way to Singapore!
