Dunston Shipbuilding Co

Dunston Shipbuilding Co

Postby Whickham » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:01 am

I came across this item in the Marine Engineer of Jan 1883, which refers to "Dunstone-on-Tyne Shipbuilding Co". This is a new one on me and I presume Dunstone should be Dunston. Anybody got any information about this yard and its ships?

Sounds like an interesting little vessel maybe similar to the 'puffers' especially to trade through the Forth & Clyde.
Seems like, on this evidence, you should add it to the Tyne site, Dave!
