Scarborough as shown here awaiting sale then scrap is virtually identical to when completed by V A Tyne in 1957. As noted she even kept the original upright skinny uncapped funnel, however the antiquated galley funnel had been removed.

One big change as built was she carries a full outfit of twelve mk 20E torpedoes, 4 fixed and a rotating pair each side. All deleted in early 1960's. The original twin bofors 40 was reduced to a single.

She was first of the six Type 12 Whitby class to arrive for breaking. Just. Rapidly followed by Tenby, Blackpool and Whitby. Eastbourne and Torquay made it into the mid 80's
