the Elfin housing estate at Blyth has road names intended to commemorate submarines with a Blyth connection, one of these is Volary Avenue which is a corruption of Votary attempts to get the council or builder to correct it have been unsuccessful. Volary is a town in Bulgaria or an old name for a birdcage.
