Looking for information on John( Jack) Ellis and the Hull based? Trawler(s) he owned, any information would be helpful. The Funnel(s) had a Flag with an "E" imposed. I briefly met John Ellis at Scarborough in the late 1940's and am very thankful I did.

I think he was based at Scarborough but his boats may have had SH or H fishing numbers.
You may have found the flag, herehttps://www.scarboroughsmaritimeheritage.org.uk/article.php?article=472

Thank You George, his business interests were mainly at Scarborough ( what better place to live although I understand he was originally from Hull) which included the second love of his life the original "Caronia" which gave a lot people their first seagoing experience!
Just wondered what other vessels he owned before he died in 1951.
