Yes, the things we had to do back then!
Catch a train from Middlesbrough which I think got to Hull around 11.00am, bus out to King George Dock then have about six or seven hours, before catching the train back at about 8.00pm, to walk the seven miles of dockland, so double that in covering both sides of the dock, probably totalling around 20 miles with the rest of the ins and outs within each dock! Pausing of course to write down ship names and take photos!!!

Yes, those were the days! Would we have them back .... yes, for volume of shipping if recording with modern technology ... that Tardis is still needed!
