The intention was, I believe to turn her into a 'Diving Boat' for plundering the Wrecks off Blyth.

She was brought up River to just short of the Kitty Brewster Bridge that takes the Spine Road over the River Blyth. Some work was done but eventually she was abandoned to the Scrap man.

Incidentally, Blyth Shipyard did the Steelwork for the Kitty Brewster Bridge.

LACKENBY: 54gt; 3.4.1946: launched by Wm Pickersgill & Sons Ltd., Sunderland, as TID 182 and completed 11.1946; 1947 sold to Tees Conservancy Commissioners (for £6,000) and renamed LACKENBY; 1.1.1967 ownership passed to Tees and Hartlepools Port Authority; 1.1971 sold to Hughes Bolckow Ltd., Blyth for breaking up, but reported still lying at that port several years later.

My rather poor shot of the LACKENBY berthed in the Tees on 13 June 1968:

Earlier, on 29 September 1964, the LACKENBY had control of the dumb barge T.C.C. 26:

Ken Turrell sent me this view of the LACKENBY, presumably while lying semi-derelict at Blyth:

For what it is worth a new scan from the original Box Brownie negative of my view above from 29 September 1964:
