Badly damaged by bombing during the Falklands war in 1982 Sir Tristram was returned to the UK on a heavy lift vessel, being discharged on the Tees. She was then towed to the Tyne for rebuilding at Wallsend. Seen here entering the Tyne on 14 June 1983 exactly a year after the conflict ended.
