Used to be built with with 2 Safes, one a Company Safe and the other being the Admiralty Safe, the Admiralty Safe contained various Government paperwork the most important was “Envelope Tango” this envelope contained instructions to the Master on what he should do in the event of unfriendly forces interfering with known Trade Routes by declaring them an Exercise Area. The Safe also contained a “Wobbly Webley ” Pistol, some vessels also carried a .303 Lee Enfield Rifle ( the Bolt being carried in the Safe). These measures were not only used during wartime but are used in the Post War period when the Soviets were and still are playing silly beggars now along with other Countries and along with so called Pirates who are doing the same around the World.
