Ahhh the short trousers and the RED legs when it was cold or you were standing next to the coal fire.
And that's to mention the Chilblains. (Itching Blain on Hand, Foot, Ear or Nose!)

River Tyne - 28 August 1967:

TYNE QUEEN: Sailing downriver empty between Newcastle and Wallsend accompanying us while we were on one of her companions, similarly outward on our own round trip - only 47 sightings that day, what were things coming to???? Only five years earlier sightings were regularly over 100 there!
