The ferry Tynemouth about to leave with across the river the Britain SS Co. Ltd., vessel Ascot (1902). Must date between 1925 and 1931.

Agree. The Tynemouth was launched in September 1925 ad the Ascot srapped in 1931.

Steel Vehicular Ferry.
ON 139906.
300 Gross. 134 Net.
Dim:- 110.0 x 34.0 x 11.8 feet.
Twin T.3 cyl. Engine Numbers 270E and 271E.
Cyl's HP 12". MP 20". LP 32". Stroke 22".
93 HP.
Two return tube boilers, 11.5 x 10 feet diameter by Palmers Ltd. Hebburn working at 180 psi.
Price £22,950. (Part of this figure was met by the Unemployment Grants Committee.)
Licensed to carry 550 Passengers.
Route; North to South Shields and return. (Known as the Market Place Ferry Route.)
1925: Order Placed.

September 1925. Launched by Philip & Son Ltd, Shipbuilders & Engineers, Dartmouth for the Tyne Improvement Commission, Newcastle. Yard Number 691.

20th August 1925. Ran Trials off Dartmouth.
14th September 1925. Arrived on the Tyne.
1955; Fitted with Radar.
8th July 1969. Sold to Clayton and Davie Ltd and arrived under tow at Dunston for demolition.
