SD15 Built in 1970 by A & P.

Renamed 81 DIDO - 84 TETI. Fire 33.49N/122.41E 31.3.89 [China-Europe, groundnuts & minerals] & BU China 1990.

The only Sunderland built SD14 or derivative that had a Doxford engine. The Salta class from Henry Rob (Robb Caledon) had Doxfords as did the Argentinians built by AFNE.

Yes, she had a Doxford 76J4 according to John Lingwood.

All the rest of the Sunderland built ones had Sulzer's by Hawthorn's, Clark's, Scott's and Clark-Hawthon et al

Came to Blyth and discharged cargo from Canada, possibly newprint and when she was going back to Canada we were told she had been sold in mid Atlantic.

The story of the Argentinian SD14 Doxfords is very interesting one, but may be part of a book being written by someone who knows, so I won't tell it, suffice to say "Shambolic" would be an appropriate name for episode.
