I wish! Mr Clarkson would soon put a stop to it if I was! WSS society Hon Sec., you must have a copy, signed, with staff discount!
Probably out of print now. Cubbin was ex Harrisons cadet, captain, and superintendent between 1940 and 1986 when he retired to look after the Company archives, and with Ships in Focus input , little wonder the book is so good. Do you have a copy or have you seen one? Some of the photographs are perfect. The double page inside front cover spread of Defender at Liverpool docks is probably one of the best ship photographs you could wish for. Four hundred A4 pages, its a mammoth read, and an important historical record. I think books written by those with direct involvement, and well within living memory of a company are some of the most valuable. Particularly interesting for Ex Sunderland shipbuilder given Doxfords twenty one Harrisons contracts, and the outstanding Craftsman, Doxfords contract built at Laings while Doxfords was being rebuilt. Expect with your experience in researching ship histories you will readily appreciate the work that went into it, even with unlimited access to Company records. If you haven't got a copy I hope you can get a one.
