Danae (TID 155) - 1945

DANAE of Alfred Holt & Co was built as the TID 155 by Wm Pickersgill in 1945 for the Ministry of War Transport. She was sold to Alfred Holt in 1946.

Post 1964: 6-cyl 4 SCSA made in 1963 by Paxman Diesels Ltd, Colchester. 283bhp
Post 1973: 12-cyl. 4 SCSA (108 x 127mm) vee type engine in 1971 by General Motors Detroit Diesel, Allison Division.
28.8.1945: (Ministry Job No. A/MS/1364) launched by Wm. Pickersgill and Sons Ltd., Sunderland (Yard No. 282) for the Ministry of War Transport, London, (Stanley Lancelot Tottle, Hull, manager at the Ministry).
24.10.1945: Registered at Sunderland, vessel No.23 of 1945.
25.10.1945: Completed.
10.11.1945: Allocated to the South East Asia Command, (T. Phelan and Co. Ltd, Liverpool, appointed as lay-up managers).
4.1946: Owners restyled as the Ministry of Transport, (Stanley Lancelot Tottle, Hull, manager at the Ministry).
1946: Sold to the Ocean Steam Ship Co. Ltd., (A. Holt and Co, managers) Liverpool, and renamed DANAE for harbour duties at Hong Kong. Re-registered at Liverpool.
1959: Sold to via Peters and Co. Ltd., to Wang Kee and Co. Ltd., Hong Kong, and renamed renamed HAILEY. Re-registered at Hong Kong.
1961: Sold to the Sarawak Co (1959) Ltd at Kuching, registered at Hong Kong.
1964: Re-engined and re-registered at Kuching.
1973: Re-engined.
1982: Offered for disposal.
1985: Demolished
