Two photos taken of a ship on one of JL Thompson's slipways, date is after 1942 i believe, as that's when the photographer Bert Stamp started there. Any help in identifying this ship would be greatly appreciated lads.
Looking at her stern end, wondering if she is possibly an engines-aft tanker, although the hull with riband is more typical of a cargo liner. Just can't see a match for JLT, are you 100% sure it's that yard?
Thanks to Tony, it is Laing's yard after all. I spoke to Bert Stamp's daughter and she told me that her Dad spent some time at Laing's as well as JL's. Wish she'd told me earlier !!. She also told me that he had a keen interest in all things Cunard so that explains the photos.
