Thompsons answer to Doxfords economy ship (helped on by the 'Scrap and Build'scheme)but both reverted to split superstructure whilst the liberty ship copied the composite style

Launched on the 14th January 1938 and completed by the March.

4,974 Gross. Coal Fired Boilers.
T.3 Cy by North Eastern Marine Engineering Company Limited, Newcastle.

1951. Sold to 'Orion' Schiff. Ges. Reith & Co., Hamburg and renamed BETEIGEUZE.
1956. Converted to Oil Firing.
1961. To Palomba & d'Amato, Torre del Greco, Italy and renamed PEPPINO PALOMBA.
1962. To Umberto d'Amato.
1970. To Michele d'Amato.

Sold to Italian Breakers and arrived at Spezia on the 22nd May 1970.

Modern design and not that much different to her reploacement.
