I wonder if the is the "B.H.C. HIGH FERRY No.1 Ferry 1903" refered to in George's list. On the extreme left is the Golden Fleece pub and this spot was the site of the passenger ferry across to Cambois.

Ref Top Picture........

25th June 1889. The new steam ferry to serve between Blyth and Cambois was launched from the shipbuilding yard of the Union Co-operative Shipbuilding Society Limited at Cowpen Square. The new ferry can accommodate 300 passengers and two horses and carts.

The actual Ferry service was established in 1890 and another similar Chain Ferry was built.

The Ferry in the bottom picture is probably BHC High Ferry No1.

Thanks Paul

I'll see if there is a photo of BHC High Ferry No 2 in this pile of images. By "Bill Quay" I assume that will be Wood Skinner. YN 224 is missing in my list.

Thanks Paul, there's also 228 & 229 missing which in sequence would have been 1923 builds but one or both may have been squeezed into 1922.
