Change of Server

Postby northeast » Wed Jun 27, 2012 8:43 am

I think I will have to face up soon to moving to a new server which is already set up with a new site name/address, as the database is growing by the day and will all have to be downloaded to my PC then uploaded to the new server ... plus a copy of the phpBB software which I have to master during the process!!
It is entirely possible that it will get in a mess but the saving grace is that this version will remain accessible, it will just mean up to a day of 'no postings' while I do the transfer to avoid anything being lost, and if I don't succeed we can resume on here.
More news on this when I have summoned up enough courage to give it a try ..... :?

Good news, I have reached an agreement with Forumatic that should allow us to stay on here within a reasonable budget for the foreseeable future, so the need to move to a different hosting site is in abeyance. :D

George, You will tell us if the Cost of running the Site is getting to much.......won't you.

I certainly have no objection to making a contribution to the running costs.

Much appreciated Paul but it's not an issue yet and hopefully will not be.
I do want to avoid the adverts route to prosperity (?) also!
