Loading Liebherr Crane parts at Greenwell's Quay because you can't get the ship upriver to Deptford, the river hasn't been properly dredged for nearly 30 years.

But they are putting a new road in on the south side of the river from the Northern Spire Bridge to the city centre so that will help transporting crane parts to the docks
Supposed to 'open up' that part of the city for developing industry and houses.
It will also help the those from Hendon bypass the queues on the other bridges when their team fails to win promotion next year
Hope they check the tide tables or they will land in the clarts (aka mud)
Regards
Graham

I was still at Laing's when Liebherr were moving in and I asked one of their managers what attracted them to the yard and he said the river for moving cranes. The last one I can remember coming downriver was in 2011 by barge,a spokesman for Liebherr said moving the crane by barge saved them from using up to 30 wagons.
