MPI ADVENTURE on lay by at Corporation Quay, Port of Sunderland on 8th October 2012.
Having loaded a Met Mast from McNulty's Yard at South Shields, Port of Tyne she couldn't carry out the installation due to a sea swell and has gone to lay by in the Wear pending more favourable sea conditions.
She was chartered to install a 750 tonne offshore Met Mast (offshore anemometry structure) off Blyth as part of the Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstration Site. Commissioned by the National Renewable Energy Centre (NAREC). The Met Mast consists of a 635 tonne tripod foundation and 100 tonne platform. Radio masts that were on the deck of the inbound MPI Adventure will be fitted to the platform.
