Launched 17th November 1960. Completed March 1961.

7,676 Gross. 10,340 Dwt.
Doxford 4 Cy 670 x 2320 mm by North East Marine Engineering Co Ltd, Wallsend.

Converted to a cable layer in 1962 and back to a Bulk Carrier 1965.

Wrecked Milwaukee 12th May 1978.
Broken Up Kewaunee 15th November 1979.

Photinia alongside at Readhead’s on 26 February 1977 on what was, presumably, her last outing as a cable layer. She sailed on 4 March for New Zealand to repair the inter-island cable that she'd laid 13 years earlier.
