Tyne Dock

Tyne Dock

Postby Whickham » Sun Dec 08, 2019 5:30 pm

Kevin Blair sent me this photo of Tyne Dock's "D" staith in 1958.
Centre stage appears to be the stern of JOHAN JEANSSON built by Helsingborgs Varfs in 1930 and registered at Kalmar.
The other two vessels, I can't make out their names.

Fine view, sure I've seen that zig-zag funnel somewhere before.
Oh yes, the ore carrier YEBALA. So maybe the same company.

I'm thinking in terms of Jebsen's KORSNES.
KORSNES (5519390), Norway, 2474gt, completed Leghorn 8-1948
1948 MAURANGER - 1954 KORSNES - 1966 ELPIS
wrecked 35.32N/35.45E 21.12.67, laid up & BU Perama by 1975

Seems a good match with: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1749147

I thought the coaster might be the KLAUS BUCK but she does not seem to accord with my own views of her showing elsewhere in NEM.
