Went over to Paris at the beginning ofthe month and this photo is from the return flight.
Just passing over Hebburn with BOKA DA VINCI alongside at the A&P Yard 04/04/2023. The waste ground that was Swan Hunter's Wallsend Yard on the other side of the river. To the right is the large new shed being built by Smulders. There were large heavy lift cranes on the quay side here for building wind turbine jackets, but they are gone now and the shed is cover for constructing a couple of substations for the Moray West project (apparently).

Certainly shows the destruction of previous traditional industries like Shipbuilding/Shiprepair where people enjoyed full employment until the deal that was done with th E.C.wiping those industries out, at one time depending on the Shipyards for employment was something in the back pocket If as an Engineer you wanted to come ashore.
Paris in the Springtime lucky you :) It was always a great run ashore for "Ton" Crews from "Vernon" accompanying 10 MCM after a busy week Minesweeping in the Channel after the dear old "Plover" had laid a few Practice Eggs.
Docking at Ruoen and then to Paris was a favourite especially the Moulin Rouge, the Reservists knew how to live life when they were away from home ;)

Splendid view and effort, Dave!
Hope you didn't riot for all of the day there.

Despite what I'd seen on the UK news there were no riots and no rubbish piled on streets. We did see a few more riot type police than usual making their presence felt though.
