My one and only photo of the reserve fleet at Hartlepool taken with my dad's old camera on 27 July 1961.
This shows (l-r) OBEDIENT, CHEERFUL, COCKATRICE (M29)

A few box brownies of my own. Unfortunately no dates, names or pack drill taken at the time. Some time afterwards I have written down the same names as given above by Ron for the first photo.

HMS COCKATRICE again but in a different location. Don't know the one in front. I think the location of the shot TODAY would be, WINGFIELD CASTLE behind me and on my left hand side.

The bows are of the frigate Loch Tralaig and alongdside Cheerful was Loch More. There were 13 reserve ships at Hartlepool in late June 1961 and this had reduced to 7 by the end of July 1962 and those had all been scrapped by September 1963.

A photo from the Hartlepool Museum Service, originally taken by the Northern Daily Mail and captioned "Three of the ‘mothball’ fleet in the Coal Dock. Their bows are across the entrance to the North Lock. They are possibly the minesweepers PROVIDENCE and ALBACORE, and the frigate LOCH TRALAIG."
