Fishing Boat Hull Colours.

OK Here an interesting point to mull over.....

The majority, but not all the hulls of Fishing boats operating out of Grimsby have Light Blue Hulls.

Vessels operating out of Buckie are sometimes Red.

The rest seem to favour Black.

Irish Boats have Green Hulls which is understandable.

Did each Port have its own Hull Colour at one time??

Paul, the blue of the small Grimsby boats is because they are based on Danish vessels usually with Danish or ex-pat owners and that was their tradition, we had some also based in Hull where known as 'snibbies'. It was not used in the main deep-sea fleets.

Strange, I used the word 'a*ply' and it produced an advertising link. Has anyone else experienced that?

Mick, it was some temporary problem I had due to visiting some site that downloaded some advertising bug that meant several words then appeared underlined as links to adverts ... managed to get rid of it after a while.
