Shipping of Seaham Harbour

Fair Maid of Perth

The small tug FAIR MAID OF PERTH tucked away in a corner at Seaham Harbour today.
Apparently she has been there for a good few days and has been purchased by the port.
Strong rumours of Perth Harbour closing down and FAIR MAID being surplus to requirements. I wonder why Seaham have gone for her?
They have operated without a tug for the last 10 ish years, in fact since their previous tug SEAHAM PRIDE was moved to their sister port at Boston.
Even when she was here the SEAHAM PRIDE didn't seem to be used very often.

She was built by Macduff Shipyards at Macduff, Aberdeenshire, in 2005 for Perth Harbour.
