Identyfing ship wreck

Identyfing ship wreck

Postby divingfiredog » Wed Jul 02, 2014 8:47 am

I have reciently dived an old ss on the north cornish coast and recovered an engine name plate.
The engine was made by T. Richardson & sons. in 1884. Normally I could identify the wreck from this, but Richardsons stoped making ships in the 1850's and only engine thereafter.
I dont have any information on engine numbers only
The plate says

T Richardson & sons

No. 784

Hartlepool Engine Works

1884

Could anyone give me any help to identify the name of the ship this engine was fitted to.

Many thanks
