I think this is at Mitchison's yard at Gateshead

Yes Dave, going off the background that is Mitchison's Yard at Friars Goose.

The other side is now the Riverside Park between what used to be Hawthorn Leslie and Norther Gas's St Anthony's Tar Works.

If it was Bobby Harrisons Yard you would see Walker Naval Yard, Slipways.

But it had me thinking!!

This is the only other photo that I have seen and it is a bit dark. However it gave me more doubts about the location than the first photo. What is the name on the shed? (EDIT: Just realised it says Mitchison) What is that line of "pylons" on the skyline? Is that St Peter's Engine Works on the other side of the river.

Looks like West Hartlepool on the stern.

Yes, thats Hawthorn Leslies Works and the Posts on the top are the Trolley Bus Wires going along Walker Road.

The Electric Railway Line to the Coast runs just above the Ridge of the Green Shed.

At least it confirms all Four Tugs were registered in 'British West Hartlepool'.
