PEARL MERCHANT (1963)

The PEARL MERCHANT (5417117), completed as such by Doxford's of Sunderland in October 1963, was owned by Monrovia Tramp Shipping Co., but registered in Chios, Greece. The photographs clearly confirm this was a Livanos company. She was noted as having dual tonnages, depending on whether working open or closed shelter-deck. Thus, she was either 7706gt, or 10926gt, as appropriate.
In 1979 she was sold and renamed GRACE FIVE under Panama flag but lasted only until 1982 when she was broken up, only 19 years old. (Miramar - BU Gadani Beach 13.10.82 [Haji Marine Industries])
